    "Personal Care"


    ABOUT THE EVENT:  This is part of our PCHRA 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Learning Series. We are partnering with the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities to provide business owners and HR professionals an understanding of the ways we can make our businesses more inclusive.  

    For this event, participants can learn and earn 1 SHRM PDC and/or 1 HRCI  Credit.

    ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Session five of the Assessible Ohio Playbook will address best practices in making spaces dedicated to personal needs accessible, ideas to help with management of sensory needs, and options for creating service animal relief areas. 

    ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: Julia Wagner is the Accessible Ohio Specialist for Southwest Ohio. In this role, Julia supports Ohio’s businesses, communities, venues, and attractions to be accessible and inclusive through individualized consultations, education, and resources. Julia joined OOD in August 2023. In addition to being a registered and licensed OT, Julia has a bachelor’s degree in occupational science, a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in occupational therapy.

    Shelly Burkhart is the Accessible Ohio Specialist for Northwest Ohio. In this role, Shelly supports Ohio’s businesses, communities, venues, and attractions to be accessible and inclusive through individualized consultations, education, and resources. Shelly joined OOD in March 2016 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Shelly has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in sociology.
