Welcome to the Portage County Chapter of SHRM

We are an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. Whether you are new to the HR field or have many years of experience, we are a local starting point for networking, information, professional development and continued support of excellence in Human Resources and welcome you to join us.

Our board members are passionate about their career in human resources and hope to grow the Portage County SHRM Chapter. Our first goal is to become a 100% chapter, which means that all of our members will be a part of the National SHRM organization. In order to achieve this goal, we are offering scholarships to those whose employers will not cover the costs of becoming a SHRM member.

Associate memberships are also available to those who wish to receive our discounted member pricing, but our meetings are open to anyone interested in the various topics we cover. In addition, our chapter is proud to serve as a mentoring organization for the Kent State University Chapter of SHRM.

We welcome your use of this site as a resource, and encourage you to check back frequently for updated information. We also encourage your involvement and suggestions about all of our activities, both on the web and off.

The Portage County Human Resource Association normally meets on the third Wednesday of the month, with exceptions for workshops and networking events.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting or event!
