PCHRA is offering a new service to advance the profession and HR professionals by teaching systems thinking for HR startegy, communications, openness and safety.

"Systems Thinking with DSRP, Part III: Relationships"

ABOUT THE EVENT: We introduce a new service called “Advancing the Profession and Serving the HR Professional Learning Series”, a bi-monthly online event raising awareness of systems thinking.

This is a 12-part training exploring the systems thinking theory and methodology of DSRP facilitated by Lori Fisher, PMP PCHRA social media chair. DSRP, which stands for Distinctions, Systems, Relationships, and Perspectives, is “thinking about thinking” and helps users develop empathy and active listening skills in addition to thinking skills.

For this event, participants can learn and earn 1 SHRM PDC.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: In this presentation, Lori will share the systems thinking methodology of DSRP, a natural and practical way to improve your thinking, interactions, and learning. In this third of four sessions Lori will build on Dr. Derek Cabrera’s Distinctions and Systems Rule by considering the Relationship Rule, which helps us practically understand the ways in which things and ideas are related. This session will include illustrative explanations, and human resources and management exercises to enhance learning and work applicability.

Since DSRP is “thinking about thinking”, you should be excited to know this systems thinking approach also yields empathy and active listening skills. Be aware people rarely challenge pre-existing relationships and focus on the individuals, rather than the makeup of their relationship. If people focus on the similarities of what they need from a relationship, rather than the differences, common ground breeds understanding.

Learn easy ways to improve this skill and immediately increase the effectiveness of your insight and ability to foster relationship-building-which is a critical skill for human resources.  Questions and dialogue are welcome and encouraged!
