Please join us as we welcome a panel of Workforce Development specialists including Bethia Burke, President: Fund for Our Economic Future; Jacob Duritsky, Vice President, Strategy & Research: Team NEO and Michelle Collins, Vice President of ConxusNEO working as a collabrative with community partners who will provide an outlook of the workforce readiness in Portage County.

    About the Collabrative

The Fund for Our Economic Future, alongside Team NEO, ConxusNEO and PolicyBridge, are working with execution partners, supporters and community partners across Northeast Ohio to understand the question on everyone’s mind: Where are the workers?

    About their Work

This collaborative, multi-part analysis includes a national scan of existing research and analysis around labor trends; an employer survey and series of roundtable discussions with Northeast Ohio businesses across various sectors to take stock of the hiring challenges they’re facing and the solutions they’ve implemented or have considered testing; and a regional survey and series of focus groups with working-age adults across the employment spectrum to understand the factors influencing their ability to and decisions around whether to engage in the workforce, and what they want and need in order to access employment.

Findings from this research, conducted from November 2021 through April 2022, will culminate in a report with insights and actionable steps that employers, workforce agencies and other stakeholders can take that lead to better quality jobs and better supports for workers.
